Meals to You Available Now to LCSS Students
Lawrence County School Nutrition will continue serving meals to all students until May 28, 2020 every Monday and Thursday at the drive thru locations (Ethridge Elementary, Ingram Sowell Elementary, Leoma Elementary, South Lawrence Elementary, and Summertown Elementary). Please note, meals will be served on Tuesday, May 26th instead of Monday, May 25th due to Memorial Day.
We are announcing a new program that will deliver meals to your doorstep for free. This program is called Meals-to-You and is a partnership between Lawrence County School Nutrition, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and Baylor University. To be eligible for the program your student must be either a free or reduced price student or enrolled at a CEP school, which is Ingram Sowell. If your student is not already free or reduced and your employment status has changed due to being laid off of work or hours cut, please fill out an application at schoolcafe.com.
When you sign up to get Meals-to-You, every other week you'll get a Meals-to-You box delivered to your home for each child 1-18 in your household through June 30, 2020. Each box will include 10 breakfasts and 10 lunches. All foods are shelf stable and do not require refrigeration. This meal service will begin after May 28 when Lawrence County Schools will no longer be offering meals at the drive thru sites. Enrollment to participate in this program begins May 1 and will close May 13. After May 13 applicants will not be able to participate in this program. Families are encouraged to enroll before May 13 to avoid missing this opportunity.
Children ages 1 – 18 can participate if there is a child living in the household that is enrolled in Lawrence County Schools.
Families can enroll at the following link and chose Lawrence County Schools as your district. Families will need to provide an email address in the registration process. If you do not have an email address you can use a friend or neighbor's email to receive any correspondence from eMTY program once you have enrolled.
Families are encouraged to begin enrollment May 1 in order to ensure you can receive meals at home after May 28.
If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Kindlyn Simpson at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 931-762-5251 ext. 109.
