Message From the Principal
Welcome to the Leoma Family! Thank you so much for visiting our school's website! I am so very proud of our students , staff, and school and am happy to share with you a little about our family.
Leoma School is a rural PK-8 grade school with about 510 students. We also offer a PK UDL classroom. Our mission statement "To empower all learners with the knowledge and skills for success" is more simply put by Leaning Equals Success @ LES. Every morning we stress "Let the Learning Begin".
I'm currently serving my 33th year as an educator. I've been a 2nd, 4th, and a 6th grade teacher. I've also been a music teacher, Special Education teacher, Behavior Interventionist, and an Assistant Principal before becoming the Principal of Leoma Elementary. I've served the students, staff, and community of Leoma School for 11 years.
Leoma has been honored to be selected as a Reward School for our Academic Growth and selected as the Middle School Consumers Education Foundation Award winner as the 2nd place school in Middle Tennessee for Academic Growth in a year. While appreciative of this recognition, we strive for better.
Leoma School offers an Extended School Day from 6:30 - 7:15 and then again from 3:15 - 5:30 for parents that need childcare. Summer programs are also available with weekly field trips. There are other enrichment after school activities available as well as band, chorus, sports, and Knowledge Bowl. We strive to have something available for everyone.
Please call if you have any questions about our school. My number is (931) 231-8199, I'd be happy to talk with you about our school or offer a tour of our facilities.
Until then ,
Mrs. Kathy Burns
