The historic Crockett Theater hosted Students, Parents, Faculty, and Staff on May 1st to celebrate CTE students throughout Lawrence County. FFA State Degrees, SkillsUSA State Officers, CNA Certifications, Duel enrollment, Completers of multiple programs, Robotics, and STEM areas were just a few focus areas. Ms. Hope Thonmason hosted the 1st Annual Event streamed live on Facebook and featured Mr. Adkins, LCSS Director of Schools, congratulating students as they presented on stage for acknowledgment. The closing ceremony featured a heartfelt tribute to retiring CTE Construction teacher Mr. Michael Ayers. He was presented with a plaque from Mr. Akins and a special gift of thanks from the Director of CTE, Ms. Shannon Watson.

What an inspiring night! It’s amazing to see so many Block Blast students recognized for their hard work and achievements in CTE programs, and the tribute to Mr. Ayers was such a touching way to honor his impact on students and the community.
